Semaglutide is a peptide used in diabetes and weight management. This is the ingredient in popular brands such as wegovy, ozempic and rybelsus. It is a glucagon-like peptide (GLP-1) analog. GLP-1 is a hormone produced in the small intestine that stimulates insulin secretion and inhibits glucagon secretion, thereby lowering blood sugar. Unlike many other weight loss medications, this medication can be used for long-term weight loss management.

How is Semaglutide Taken?

Semaglutide is a once a week injection done in the office. During your initial consult, labs will be ordered to help determine if you have any other underlying causes for your weight gain and we will establish you are a good candidate for semaglutide or other diet programs such as HCG.
