She began her career in medicine by becoming a licensed massage therapist at 18, which allowed her to learn about alternative ways of healing. She focused on nutrition during her undergraduate years at the University of Texas in Austin, before graduating from Bastyr University with her doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine. She completed her residency at SageMED in Bellevue, Washington, where her focus was hormone optimization and regenerative medicine.
